At Skookum Monkey, we take security seriously. That is why we now offer two-factor authentication for all Skookum Monkey customer accounts, in addition to free SSL certificates for eCommerce websites.
If you are an existing Skookum Monkey client or considering one of Skookum Monkey’s services, setting up your account with two-factor authentication will be relatively simple.
First, send us an e-mail. Once we receive your e-mail, we will need to verify your mobile number and other account information to make sure it is you. We will also ask you a series of questions about your Skookum Monkey services.
Once we have verified that the person contacting us is indeed the account holder, you will be sent a SMS with a WordFence code. If you live outside of the United States, you may have to pay a charge, depending on your mobile plan.
Once you receive that code, you will need to give that code to us, so that we can finalize the two-factor authentication process. This part is a little scary. But, WordFence–the security plugin we are using for this–has set it up this way so that it is easy for websites to implement without having to change code and design, making it easy for anyone to secure their sites without coding knowledge.
Once we have received your WordFence code, we will activate two-factor authentication on your account and provide you with new login instructions.
You will also have the option of whitelisting the IP of the device from which you most often log in. That way, you won’t have to do the special extra steps to log in on that device. But, if you attempt to log in from another device, you will receive a SMS with the code you need to access your account information.
Two-factor authentication: Just one more thing we do to keep your data safe.
If you have any questions about this or any other Skookum Monkey service, please feel free to contact us at any time, either via e-mail or in the comments.
